It is about 8foot,the trunk is the thickness and appearance of bamboo and at the top the flowers are identical to a dahlia the one I saw was a lilac colour.
Do you know anything about a Dahlia Tree?
I don't have any personal knowledge of the Dahlia tree, having never grown one, but there are some great websites listed below that may help you out:
