Black dahlia?

ok so the other night i watched this E! special for like two min. on this famous woman who was dubbed the "black dahlia" after she died. I didn't get to watch the whole thing, but I was kinda interested so I googled her. When I did, a couple pictures came up. They were AWFUL. One was of her cheeks percisley slashed and mingled. The other pic was of her body strewn across the grass, in two parts. I was so appalled, and the pics were so gruesome that I kept having nightmares and I have been stressed about those pictures. So, I still want to know more about her, but I can't ever look her name up again without seeing those mortifying pictures. So could someone please tell me the whole story of her? And what happened? Why was her body like that?

Reply:All I know is she was an aspiring actress and apparently quite good looking and to this day her murder has not been solved. Whoever did that to her was one sick person.

Reply:the black dahlia was a nickname for a girl named Elizabeth Short. This girl was murdered and it is still unsolved (just to let u noe). Her body was found on january 15 1947 severly multiated, cut in half, and drained of blood. Her face was also slashed. Thats abot it !

Reply:She was like many young pretty girls in those days an aspiring actress that never really had a chance to make it or break it since she died I think in her early 20s. I understand your fear of those pictures because I couldn't sleep for a week too when I read how she was kept for like a week, tortured, beaten, sodomised brutally, humiliated, whilst alive but I suppose unconcious she was hacked into half and left in the open naked for the world to see. There were many suspects but no arrests were made until sometime in early 1980s or something the police was going to interview a suspect that was in the list a long long time ago but he burnt himself to death or something like that. Case still officially unsolved and will never be solved. Questions about her promiscuity, whether she was a prostitute since she failed as an actress were made although many believed she was not sexually active because of some birth defect in her anatomy whilst some disputed that. Her death made her famous and her gruesome death a fascination for generations. Do not search for her pictures because quite likely you will find her mourge pictures. That's what I do know and everything else were just rumours or distortion of facts. We will never know. By the way she had a thing for black clothes, red lipstick as a direct contrast to her pale eyes, fair skin. And she liked I think to put dahlia tucked behind her ears.
