Can I plant a clump of Dahlia or do I have to always divide clumps into tubers with eyes?

I have a few clumps with more than 1 eyes on them. I want to plant as is.

How big are the clumps? If they are really large, divide them to make smaller (leave one to five tubers together) then plant them. You will have bushier plants that way.

Check out the following websites for more info.
Reply:You can clump plant Dahlias. They do better individually though. You nave to remember to deep water them but not let them stand in water as they will develop rot. Since they get very tall, unless you have the dwarf variety, you have to remember to give them support stakes.
Reply:Give them some space, they do better that way, less competition.
