Did anyone understand the Black Dahlia movie?

I don't know rhe names in the movie, but when Hilary looked up at , Josh He was laughing at 1st then why did he jump up and call her a slut, ***** and all those bad words. Was Hilary messing around with her dad too? Oh and was Scarlett a prostitute too? I just didnt understand!

Did anyone understand the Black Dahlia movie?
I just finished the book, which is infinitely better than the movie. A whole lot of stuff got cut out to turn "The Black Dahlia" into a two hour movie. As a result, it doesn't make sense. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of the novel.





Scarlett's character was not a prostitute, and yes, Hilary Swank was getting busy with her father. (The book makes all that clear as well.)

Reply:I saw the movie and 20 minutes in, I really had an urge to call De Palma and tell him he lost whatever credit he has left of being a director. By far one of the worst movie of the year.





I got lost immediatly, didn't care for much of the caracteres and skiped scenes if their would be some kind of great scene. The only scene I noticed that De Palma kind of re uses in every movie he does, (when the detective gets killed) the slow motion scene, especially the music at high pitch. I thought of the Untouchables and said to myself, how bad he is now. I hope he finds a good movie that brings him back.
