Who here has seen Black Dahlia? Is it any good?

Visually, I thought it was gorgeous - the costumes, sets, locales, etc. were really terrific.





However, the acting was mediocre (except Hillary Swank and Fiona Shaw - both wonderful in much-too-small roles) - Josh Harnet was a yawn and I'm really ready for Scarlett Johansen's 15 minutes to be up).





The story was confusing - and not all that interesting. It has very little to actually do with the Black Dahlia murder...the movie is no more about the Black Dahlia murder case than Gone With the Wind is about the civil war.





I wish we had just waited to see it on HBO for free - it was very disappointing.

Who here has seen Black Dahlia? Is it any good?
It is a pretty good movie. but you can get lost in tha story if not paying attention. but a plus is josh harnett with no shirt. Tha story is more around how the murder affects Harnett and his partner and his partner's girlfriend, not much about the gruesome murder.
Reply:I saw it and yes it was good but I warn you it is one of those movies that you have to watch every second or you will be completly lost, It was pretty hard to follow but it in the end I got it.

It's not exactly what I thought it was going to be - it's not so much about the detectives solving the case of the Black Dahlia as it is about how her murder affected their lives. You do have to pay careful attention though, or the movie might end up losing you.
