Black dahlia and the departed?

I am waiting for these two films to be released on dvd and am exited about watching them,


does anybody think they are worth this wait?


did anybody love or hate these films?

The Departed was good. But watch Infernal Affairs, it's the original and better.





The Black Dahlia. Rubbish. If you're expecting a film about what happened then forget it, it's a rubbish love film with the Black Dahlia story as a background.
Reply:The Departed is fabulous - Scorsese did a great job and the actors are really on form. As for The Black Dahlia, well the book is really, really good. It was written by James Ellroy who also wrote LA Confidential. I haven't seen the film so can't comment, it was directed by De Palma - but I hear it's a bit of a disappointment - shame!!
Reply:i have already viewed black dahlia through Netflix (I hated it). Just received The Departed, and I am looking forward to it. Departed is a remake of the Hong Kong action picture Infernal Affairs, which was terrific. I trust Scorsese did not screw it up, maybe even improved it!!!

Reply:The Black Dahlia is one of the worst movies I have EVER seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The acting is terrible, the story is all over the place, and it's dirty. It's suppose to be based on a true story, but the end is completely made up!!! Please don't waste those 2 1/2 hours of you life.

I have seen both, and although I really liked 'The Departed' I would recommend watching 'Infernal Affairs' first.





Leo DiCaprio is really good (as always) and even though I hate Matt Damon, I though he played his role really well.





But, as usual, Jack Nicholson really steals the screen.





It's a good watch but the Chinese version is better, and there are two Chinese sequels

Reply:Haven't seen the Black Dahlia, but The Departed is completely brilliant. Mark Wahlberg totally deserves his Oscar nomination, but Jack Nicholson is totally evil and scary too...
