The Black Dahlia?

I recently saw this movie (the one with Josh Hartnett and Scarlet Johansen) and I have to say it pretty much sucked. How is it that the actual murder, the murder for which the movie is named, is only a sub plot? It's baffling. I don't care about the slow "action" happening with Hartnett's character, his partner, and Hilary Swank. Let's try to solve a murder, people! Very frustrating...

Anyway, my question is, according to this movie, why was she killed? I missed the explanation/confession and I hope someone can explain everything to me. I already know who, I just want to know why.

The Black Dahlia?
i was too busy paying attention to how hot josh is so never paid attention
Reply:I have it at home, but I haven't watched it yet. Guess I need to.
Reply:I found the movie hard to follow too. It was nowhere as good as the adaptation of LA Confidential.

From memory, it was a sex murder (from the book). However, it was secondary to the story of the two detectives. Apparently, the murder was based on a real incident. It was never solved, and neither was the murder of James Ellroy (the author)'s mother in somewhat similar circumstances.
